Mumbai, 11th July 2024 – The Indo German Training Centre (IGTC) of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) organized a highly impactful one-day workshop on ‘Regulatory Compliances under Trade and Customs.’ This workshop aimed to equip participants with an in-depth understanding of the various laws and regulations governing international trade, which vary significantly from country to country. Attendees were provided with comprehensive knowledge on local rules and regulations for importing and exporting goods, understanding the classification and valuation of goods, and complying with applicable taxes and duties. Furthermore, the workshop emphasized the importance of being aware of specific documentation requirements for shipments.

Mr. Sudhakar Kasture, a renowned trainer and visiting faculty member of IGTC, was the keynote speaker. Mr. Kasture, who is the Director of Helpline Impex Pvt. Ltd. and EXIM Institute, brought his extensive experience to the workshop. As an advisor and consultant to numerous prestigious companies including Blue Star, BKT, Godrej Group, Huber Group, HUL, Marico, MRPL, Siemens, and ThyssenKrupp, Mr. Kasture’s expertise spans Foreign Trade Policy, World Trade Organization (WTO), Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), Customs Regulations, Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Regulations, and Non-Tariff Barriers. His insights, drawn from over four decades in the field, significantly enriched the workshop.

Participants from diverse professional backgrounds such as Import, Export, Taxation, Audit, and Compliance Departments attended this workshop. Companies represented, included Andreas Stihl Pvt. Ltd., Bayer Bioscience Pvt. Ltd., Bayer Science and Innovation Pvt. Ltd., Infineon Technologies India Pvt. Ltd., Kiron Hydraulic Needs Pvt. Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd., Sartorius Stedim India Pvt. Ltd., VEM Tooling India Pvt. Ltd., and Wirtgen India Pvt. Ltd. Attendees travelled from across the country, including Hyderabad, Bangalore and various parts of Maharashtra.

Key topics covered during the workshop included Regulatory Compliance under Customs Law, Essential Elements for Post Clearance Audit (PCA) by Customs, and Do’s and Don’ts for Exporters/Importers. The interactive format of the workshop facilitated active participation and lively discussions, enhancing the learning experience.

By the conclusion of the session, participants had acquired a comprehensive understanding of navigating international trade and customs regulations, as well as effective compliance strategies. They also delved into PCA essentials, Proactive Compliance Tools, and Goods Classification Compliance, among other critical topics. A detailed presentation on trade policies, market analysis tools, and compliance requirements was shared with all participants. The workshop successfully met its objectives, with participants expressing high levels of satisfaction and appreciation for the practical knowledge and tools they acquired to handle the complexities of cross-border trade. Many attendees suggested additional workshops on topics such as Post Budget, GST Compliances, future developments in GST, and Audit Challenges.

Participants were honoured with a Certificate of Participation from the Indo German Chamber of Commerce’s Indo German Training Centre (IGTC) upon completion of the workshop.
